Book ....The quest for the real King Arthur

Post by chuck » Tue December 21st, 2010, 6:42 pm

The Holy Kingdom...By Adrian Gilbert, Alan Wilson, and Baram Blackett.....Alas...I still chasing after Arthur Rex....Fiction or Non Fiction I can't walk away from this alluring subject.....This NF book has the Welsh angle on Arthur....Really interesting theories and some are probably a quite a stretch....I readily admit I know very little about Wales and it's Arthur legends....I do like reading about the Dark ages and the authors produce some nice colored plates of interesting sites and artifacts....Here is the Contents.....

1 the once and future King
2 The secret inheritance of Wales
3 The Lalandaff Charters
4 Forgotten stones of Hero kings
5 The quest begins
6 The invasion of Britain
7 The Romans in Britain
8 The Royal College of Christians
9 The Cross of Christ
10 The Pirate Kingdom and the Constatine Succession
11 The Glastonbury Hoax
12 The search for Arthur I
13 The church on the hill
14 Arthur II, King of Glamorgan
15 The coming of the King of Africa
16 The Lost City
17 Morte D' Arthur
18 The dynasty of the Holy Grail

Epilogue....... appendix 1. The stone of Brutus....appendix 2. Summary of the findings of the 1990 excavation of the Church of St Peter's- Montem...appendix 3 The great stone port and the Welsh Dykes....appendix 4. The ancestors of Owain, son of Hywell Dda, Prince of Dyfed....

BTW....check out the reviews on "The Holy Kingdom".....no middle ground ... I'm enjoying the read and I like the Welsh spin.....but definately out there.....
