Lincoln Cathedral Tomb
Lincoln Cathedral Tomb
I"m working on my post for our visit to Lincoln Cathedral and there was a tomb there that I can't identify. I didn't see any identification of it in the cathedral itself and haven't been able to find anything either in the guidebook or online. Does anyone have any idea/clue as to who this might be?

Looking at these photos of the interior of Lincoln Cathedral, I'd say you're right about it being St Hugh's shrine. If you look closely at the side of his shrine pictured here you can see that the shield designs are the same as the ones in your photos.
What an amazing place!

I've had a go at fiddling with the photo to make the shields a bit clearer, though increasing the size has caused a bit of distortion, unfortunately.
I can't answer your question Tanzanite, but I'm going to Lincoln next spring to do some research so I'm looking forward to seeing your photos as part of my 'homework'.
It is incredibly beautiful! If you are interested, here's a link to my post:

Unfortunately this is going a little slower than I had hoped - I'm only half way through our trip.

It was the shields that convinced me - especially since I didn't remember seeing them on anything else.
