This has to be a contender for the cheesy covers competition! ;)

On a less sensationalist note, I'm just about to start reading "Agatha Raisin and a Spoonful of Poison", modern crime set in the Cotswolds.
Oh, the quotes in the book are cheesy enough on their own.

Apparently this author helped Fabio ghost write his own little romance novels some time ago (the 80's I think?). A gal at Goodreads read and reviewed a few of them recently. Hilarious. The reviews that is, not the books :D

I have turned to a library book that came in just before Christmas: On the Farm by Stevie Cameron. It's about the travesty that is the Willy Pickton murders. Some descriptions are gruesome, but the detailed descriptions of the poor women's lives make for powerful reading. I want to get it read before BoswellBaxter's book comes in the mail. I am so stoked for it! What a wonderful way to start the new year!! :D

I'm reading The Love Knot by Elizabeth Chadwick. Last night I read the part where young Prince Henry shows off his English. I like how the book is, of course, in modern English, but when Henry speaks it is in Old English. You are a clever one, Ms. Chadwick. I am jealous of your abilities. I am really enjoying the book--thank you for your work.

I just recently read Catherine Gavin's novel of the French Revolution, "Dawn of Splendour"

This is the first in a trilogy which I've been meaning to read for years, but never got round to. When it popped up on an online auction cheap I snaffled it. I enjoyed it and will hunt out the other two now (French Fortune and One Candle Burning.

I've had this on my bookcase for almost 2 years now. I hope to get to it one day.
