- Interest in HF: started in childhood with the classics, which, IMHO are HF even if they were contemporary when written.
- Favourite HF book: Prince of Foxes, by Samuel Shellabarger
- Preferred HF: Currently prefer 1600 and earlier, but I'll read anything that keeps me turning the page.

I'm going to finish books with the end of the year. The Elephant's Journey is on my kindle (having fun with it). Cathedral of the Sea is on the nightstand -- if it weren't for the Spanish setting, this would be DNF, it's just not grabbing me. And, for a book group, NF Three Cups of Tea, which I am enjoying very much.

I'm halfway through The Book of Air and Shadows by Michael Gruber. I'm really enjoying the blend of humorous and intelligent contemporary characters set in a literary thriller format, involving flashbacks to Shakespearean era conflict and mystery by means of a letter written by a spy set upon the Bard.

Can't recall if it's been mentioned before. I strongly urge you take notes. Characters come and go and change a lot as the layers are revealed.

Finished House at Riverton last night; bit of a slump toward the latter half, but then steams right up toward an unexpected and haunting ending.
Not sure what I'm starting next. I'm considering a few on the shelf, including C.J. Sansom's Heartstone. I just might have to surrender to the temptation and plunge into Shardlake's latest outing

My favorite Dickens! The miniseries with Gillian Anderson is marvelous, too.
