I just picked up the DVD's. Willie Loomis just found Barnabus' chained coffin and had a very unpleasant surprise.

[quote=""Misfit""]Found this one of many videos on YouTube to see parts of the old series, as well as some enterprising folks who Photoshopped Depp into a vampire.

Love this clip - quite atmospheric apart from the bat on a string near the beginning! ;)

Oh I know the sets can be a hoot at times. I've been watching all afternoon and this morning and despite that I'm still enjoying it a lot. Could do without Carolyn's do though ;)

Found some more info on the movie here.
■As pre-production on the Dark Shadows feature film continues, Warner Bros have announced that the film will be released in conjunction with Imax. The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Imax will showcase up to 20 Warner movies in the next three years, including Dark Shadows. Imax is a high definition format, projected on much larger screens than conventional cinema, and can accommodate 3D movies. In recent years, Warners have released 10 3D titles, though it's unconfirmed that Dark Shadows will be a candidate for 3D treatment.
■On November 5, 2010, it was finally confirmed that production on the film would begin in April 2011. [1]
■In an interview promoting his new film The Tourist, actor Johnny Depp has spoken briefly about his upcoming role as Barnabas in the new Dark Shadows feature film. Speaking to the Chicago Sun-Times, Depp says: "We start [Dark Shadows] in April and I can't wait to sink my teeth in. Bad pun, I know. I can't wait to start and get into that dark mode."

IMAX. Hmmmm.

Spotted in the latest issue of Vanity Fair with Johnny Depp on the cover; in the article, it mentions he's reading the script for Dark Shadows and it's "gotten really f----X good."

Guess he's excited about it :)

Just read on IMDB that Eva Green (from Casino Royale) may be playing Angelique.

I don't know if anyone could compare to Lara Parker as Angelique. Dang she was good.

I've been working on watching the old series and really curious to see where they'll start this storyline (let alone finish it). Day one of Barnabas out of the coffin? The 1795 flashbacks? The Dream Curse?

I was sneaking peeks at the Ammy reviews for the later episodes. One of the latter time travel epis the return to the present gets overshot and they land in 1995. I am dying to see how 1995 was envisioned in 1970.

Now that the show is in color the ladies are being dressed in full late 1960's colorful regalia. Love it.

Chuck, this book might interest you, My Scrapbook: Memories of Dark Shadows by Kathryn Leigh Scott. I heard about it on one of the interviews at the end of the DVD's. The photographer was Scott's boyfriend at the time and was always there taking photos. It is in my library's catalog so I plan to give it a look one of these days.

More casting news, although probably not too surprising given that they seem to form a "dream team" - Helena Bonham Carter is now in the film too, as a psychologist.
