I I think Kate is cute. Not beautiful, but very cute. And if she looks 40, well, all I can say is, we all should look so good at age 40!!! :p

As for William, he's looking less like a hunk and more like his dad every day!
I think she is lovely and I had serious dress envy myself (not to mention figure envy!)
Agree re William. His dad once handed me a cheque at the start of my career (totally surreal. One minute I'd been filling shelves at the supermarket to make ends meet, the next I was mixing it with royalty!). Anyway, he doesn't have elegant princely hands at all - they're more like a bunch of sausages!

Tim Seeley's mother was the sister of Edward VIII's longterm mistress - whose necklace went on sale in 2008

I agree with you about both of them - there's something about William's nose (did that come from Charles??) that doesn't quite sit well on his face.

And so cool about the cheque - not the hands though. :D

My husband asked me if I wanted to go to London for the wedding! I think he's joking, but...
To me, his nose and his mouth are both Diana's. But there's something about him that's looking more and more like Charles. I think it's his hair and the ever-increasing forehead. ;)

While I was watching the interview, I thought I saw the Hanoverian eyes in William.
Grr Bummer!

Well since I still love Diana, I can't get over my prejudice about Camilla. So, I'm sorry if I've offended any one.

I very much feel the same way. Perhaps the American's haven't gotten over it as easily as the Brits ;)
Michy, re the writer who didn't like the blue dress was Susan Hill (author of The Lady in Black) and I guess I can post it here because it's there for all to see in her Twitterfeed. She tweeted:

Photo of William and Kate. She looks 40, has frock to match and far too much makeup. And looks like her mother. Wiliam, are you SURE ?
I think she sounds a tad bitter to me. The girl did not look frumpy or old and I don't see her wearing too much makeup. The funny thing I noticed was that her dress matched her ring. :D :D

What I thought when I saw Kate in the dress was that it may have been an unthinking homage or maybe on purpose to the blue Diana wore the day of her engagement being announced. I also noticed that she had dimples :) I think she's lovely.

Re: William - yeah he used to be a lot hotter and now he's losing his hair (poor guy), and not as hot, bummer! :( I thought he escaped the curse of the Windsors' looks cause of his mother, guess not.

I always thought his brother was hotter.

Its a shame he is losing his hair. Can't they do something about that? I'd look into some hair plugs.

I'm with Chuck. How much of this mush can we take- and we've got months to go yet!

Given the fact that William and Kate are well aware that England is currently in austerity mode, I imagine Kate will be going for recycled jewellery-- she's made a good start with Diana's engagement ring. I imagine (probably like Diana) that she went with a blue dress to complement the sapphire. It must be a bit tricky for them, in fact-- everyone expects a good show, but there will inevitably be grumblings about the cost to the public.

I am not all that enamored of the British monarchy (I could say all the European monarchies, but the British seems to be the most visible), but rather have mixed feelings about them. But at the end of the day, I don't have to pay for it, so I can just shrug my shoulders and say whatever! But if I were a citizen of the UK -- i.e. my hard-earned money went to taxes to support them -- then my feelings would be far less mixed!
