Jane's list

Post by JaneRob » Fri November 12th, 2010, 1:09 pm

A bit late to start one l know, less than two months to the end of the year. I am going to do this to make myself finish a small but growing pile that are yet to be completed.

Starting from just a few months back.

1. Nicolo Rising, by Dorothy Dunnett.

The first of her House of Niccolo series. Probably not the most interesting one of the series, but a must if you want to go on with it. Be patient, the series gets better.

2. Virgin Widow, by Anne O'Brien,

Interesting enough, but not my most favorite style of story telling. Told in the first person pretty much all the way through the book.

3. Herald of Joy, a novel, by Pamela Belle,

I should know better than to start a series out of order. I have enjoyed some of her earlier work, but this one does not quite measure up. I may have to hunt down some of the earlier books in this series to be fair.

My favorite scene from Dorothy Dunnett's Niccolo Rising is the day Claes broke the one-legged Greek's prosthetic leg. Hilarious.
