Hi JaneRob, good to see someone else from Melbourne! I am a DD fan too I first read the Lymond chronicles about 15 years ago. I have got the Niccolo series to read, bar one, the first one, and although I keep meaning to buy it so I can start, other things get in the way. I also started on a re-read recently of Lymond and read the first two, but I do feel guilty that I am re-reading when I have so many other books on the TBR pile. And that pile grows significantly when you read all the posts here!
Thanks Guys
This is a great site. I have already ordered my first book, and downloaded some free ones from project Gutenberg. I expect to be kept very busy over the summer period after all.

Hi -
It seems wierd that you are enjoying summer as we anticipate snow (yes - it really DOES snow in North Carolina especially in the mountains).
Welcome from the Queen's City!

Welcome Jane! I've always wanted to see Melbourne, but have only made it to Sydney, so far. However, I do go to Tamworth NSW every January for their country music festival, and will do so again in just 2 months. .... and I come from Canada. I'd like to try Dorothy Dunnett, but her books are almost impossible to find in the libraries these days, and rarely are seen in the bookstores. I could buy them on amazon, but I don't want to take the chance and pay for my first read, knowing that some people have found her very difficult to read. I'm not sure how much patience I have!

Jane, I'm heading down to Melbourne in April and was wondering if you are able to help me with recommendations for a a good second hand bookstore or a store that has really good prices on books. The cheaper they are the more I can buy!
Oh and that would be in the city are as we are only there for a short time.
And silly me, forgot to say welcome to the forum.
