Erik Larson Has A New Book Coming Out...

Post by SonjaMarie » Thu November 4th, 2010, 3:36 am

Talk about coincidence, I was just lamenting about Larson not having a new book out for a long time and today I found this:
"In the Garden of Beasts: Love, Terror, and an American Family in Hitler's Berlin" by Erik Larson (Hardcover - May 10, 2011)

I'm just not sure it's something I'm interested in, but we'll see.

Certainly has an intriguing title. Long, but intriguing.

Interest in HF: I can't answer this in 100 characters. Sorry.
Favourite HF book: Checkmate, the final novel in the Lymond series
Preferred HF: Literary novels. Late medieval and Renaissance.

Larsen's books generally make good reading. The WWII setting is not my favorite, though. I think by a certain point in my life, I had just read too many WWII novels, plus seen too many WWII movies, and I got saturated. I do want to read Marcus Zusak's The Book Thief one of these days, though.
Browse over 5000 historical novel listings (probably well over 5000 by now, but I haven't re-counted lately) and over 700 reviews at www.HistoricalNovels.info
