- Interest in HF: started in childhood with the classics, which, IMHO are HF even if they were contemporary when written.
- Favourite HF book: Prince of Foxes, by Samuel Shellabarger
- Preferred HF: Currently prefer 1600 and earlier, but I'll read anything that keeps me turning the page.
- Location: California Bay Area
Hi DebB! If you don't need more recommendations, you can always throw in some of your own. Personally, with less time to read than I would like, a book has to be recommended two or three times before I get around to reading it. So what's your fave?
(Also born in Hollywood and raised in LA, but currently in the Bay Area.)

Sorry about that. Not.

Wow -- what a warm welcome -- thanks!!!
Now, what would be really helpful is if one of you could convince my husband that the solution for a book addiction is adding a library to one's house. He inexplicably claims that the better solution is to (1) stop buying books, and (2) donate books read to some worthy organization. Ah, spouses can be so pesky at times!
(Don -- No, I didn't go to Fairfax HS; I went to N. Hollywood HS.)
(MLE -- I love the Bay Area. Fortunately, my husband's family lives there so we get to visit periodically.)

Welcome to the boards, Deb. When my husband suggests I clean off the bookshelves, I agree to do it when he cleans out the 25 years' worth of dead electronics infesting our closets! One of these days he might take me up on it...but it'll be worth it!
