Hi, All

I finally joined after stopping by a few times to obtain books recommendations. Everyone's expertise is much appreciated.

My tastes run from ancient history to the far future, but right now I have been reading The Academician - Southern Swallow - Book I by Edward Patterson set in 12th century China. I'm not sure what I think about it yet. I picked it up on Amazon because I enjoyed the Judge Dee mysteries by Robert van Gulik.

Next on my TBR list are Barbara Cleverly's Inspector Joe Sandilands books which I first read about here.

I am looking forward to adding more and more titles to my list.

Interest in HF: started in childhood with the classics, which, IMHO are HF even if they were contemporary when written.
Favourite HF book: Prince of Foxes, by Samuel Shellabarger
Preferred HF: Currently prefer 1600 and earlier, but I'll read anything that keeps me turning the page.
Location: California Bay Area
