Response to Introduction
Welcome to the group that seems to get more international all the time... I wonder how many different countries members of this group come from?
A good story, told well, will find its audience. Your Malay-based epic sounds fascinating. Keep dreaming of the worldwide audience as you start with your local audience.
Good luck with it.

THE SWORDS OF FAITH, a unique novel about the "Third Crusade" (Richard the Lionheart and Saladin) that stresses tolerance between the faiths even during a time of great conflict.
Hi to all. I've been lurking in the background for months, reading other guys's posts, their drafts etc. Time to get out into the clear now I think.
I'm sort of writing, not sure if you could call it that yet, something - a trilogy, actually - based on the South East Asian region, in particular the Malay Peninsula, of the 11th century. But books 1 and 3, will have 2 - 3 chapters revolving around the main proganist's foreign sojourn to Ghazna/Byzantium and Goryeo (ancient Korea) - respectively - making friends, building relationships/alliances, networking, learning war strategies, acquiring weaponry, gaining life/battle experience etc..
See, I'd love to read that! While Im familiar with the time period in Europe and the Middle East, SE Asia a part of the world I know very little about. Please do keep us posted as to your writing, Im interested in knowing more. As a matter of fact, what HF of the regions ancient history would you recommend?
Welcome!

Hi Shield, and welcome to this forum, which is an excellent place to hang out. Your books sound very interesting indeed, and could well have potential internationally. The inclusion of a slave from Constantinople is an excellent idea, as you might find that character adds appeal to European and/or US markets/readers. Sad, but I think true.
I'd love to see some of your material posted up on the site sometime!

Hi RichardWarrenField, thanks. Well, as they say, the more the merrier, right?
Yes, that's what many here say, good story and good telling are what's important. I'll keep that in mind. Thanks for your encouragement.
