"The First Book Visible From Space"

Post by SonjaMarie » Sun September 19th, 2010, 6:40 pm

Ok, not really but it made you look!

Actually it's from the Introduction of "The Mental Floss History of the World". The full thing reads:
"A natural question about any single-volume history of the world should be: "Is everything here?" The straight answer is: no. Not that we didn't try. Sadly, HarperCollins rejected our original 500 million-page manuscript as "overenthusiastic" and "hard on the back." (Whether it would have been marketable as the first book visible from space is still up for debate.)"

The book is supposed to be a irreverent look at history and already I'm laughing and smiling, I think I'm going to like it!
