I've finally managed to break into the fortress on Mont Ségur (well, not I, but the knights and soldiers did) and I'm looking for hiding heretics.*

* Personally I won't call them that, but the POV I'm in does.

Second book: In a cave in the mountains on the border of the Raraku desert, having a theological discussion with a very weird sort of priest. Tomorrow I'll change POV and move to the Otataral mines.

I should read books people could actually guess at. ;)

I'm guessing one of Steven Erikson's "Malazan" series for your second book-- "Deadhouse Gates"?, but there are lots of Cathar novels to choose from!

Brownie point for you, yes, it is Deadhouse Gates. :)

The second is a bit unfair, since it's a German novel.

That's a rather beautiful photograph Misfit.

Me, I am a pirate holed up on an island with a large chest of gold and wondering how the heck I am going to get out the dilemma I'm in.

I love the Colorado mountains.

I'm sitting atop an elephant in a howdah on my way out of Goa in 1657. Pretty bumpy ride.
