When I'm not doing some cleanup work in Late Antiquity Gaul, I'm spending a little time in Anne Rice's New Orleans and San Francisco, getting to know a certain family of witches (again/for the first time in about twenty years).

I loved "The Witching Hour" (and am impressed by it now, anew), but I seem to remember at least one of the other two feeling to me like Anne fulfilling a marketing contract while she got to more good writing in some other novel ... Maybe I just felt there was only so much incest it was enjoyable to wade through. Gracious, even the first sixty pages of Witching is loaded with it.
