Nice new digs

Post by cw gortner » Tue September 2nd, 2008, 5:02 am

Hi all, the new site looks great! I'm delighted to be back; Marg and Carla left me invites at my blog, telling me of the demise of the old site and Susan B. gracefully assisted me in my ham-handed attempts to log in ( I needed to re-register, of course. Silly me) A hearty thank you and congratulations to the moderators for what must have been a monumental transfer!

I'm C.W. Gortner, author of THE LAST QUEEN and THE SECRET LION. I live in San Francisco and escape as often as I can to Lake Tahoe and Spain. I love animals; I'm fiercely liberal, obsessed with history, a devout addict of historical fiction, and believe everyone looks better by candlelight  .

You can find out more about me at my website: http://www.cwgortner.com.

Welcome back CW! I'm glad you found your way here. We seem to be rounding up most of the old crowd one way or another.

Welcome back, CW. I have The Last Queen on order with Amazon - the paperback is due out mid October in the UK, I think, or it is according to Amazon!

Thanks all. I've been exploring the forum a bit and really like the new additions. I'm hoping to have some more free time now that I've delivered my next manuscript to share some of my current reading choices and to just chat!

Hi Vanessa,
Very nice to meet you. Love your avatar! I believe the UK paperback pub date has been changed to January '09. However, the UK hardcover (a limited edition for libraries, mostly) has been released and there's also a large trade pb export edition available, but I can't seem to locate it on amazon. I know WH Smith travel shops are carrying it but maybe not in the UK itself?

Nice to meet you, I'll have to keep an eye out for your books, or put them on order at the local library.

Oh, dear, that is typical of Amazon. Mine is still showing up for a delivery date mid October.
