I just pre-ordered the new Dan Brown "The Lost Symbol", though it's not out for a month yet.

"nona" wrote:I know most of you are aware of http://www.paperbackswap.com but I finally ventured there and I'm amazed at how easy and wonderful it is. I listed 20 books and already 6 are spoken for.

now granted you are not going to find SKP or EC books there but plenty of others.

Thanks for mentioning this site. I had not been aware of it. I listed 10 books yesterday and mailed out seven of them the same day! With my first 2 credits I ordered Penarric and Vivaldi's Virgins. I noticed that you can purchase credits as well. I'm wondering about the condition of the books when they arrive. The ones I sent out were in excellent condition. Also, when browsing, I did see several SKP books posted.
Thanks again!

I got two paperbackswap books in the mail today; one was an Ellis Peters title that would have cost me $8 or so to get via an Amazon vendor, at least. Both arrived in good shape, but only one of the two senders had used any plastic to protect their books -- a must-do in my opinion. (Otherwise, the books risk getting ruined by rain, etc., en route. So I now have the Horn of Roland to read!

I have 45 books posted as of now (including a copy of Laurel Corona's Four Seasons and some Alys Clare books. Have mailed out 13 in less than a week, two more to go tomorrow plus one is on hold because it's on someone's wait list. I'm a bit irritated that two or three books I requested from the system on the 14th, the member still hasn't bothered to confirm whether or not they have them & will send them.

Based on a cursory glance, the people that will be happiest with this site are those who love authors like Sophie Kinsella and James Patterson, or who are big romance and historical romance fans (Julie Garwood, Linda Lael Miller, etc.)

Just in from the UK is Henry Porter's new suspense thriller. Also received Jean Plaidy's Defenders of the Faith, and on order from BD (should they decide to deliver rather than cancelling it) is the new Robert Harris book about Cicero & Rome, due out in 50 days (not that I'm counting...)
