Had a visit from an old classmate of my husband's and his family. Aside from having a wonderful time meeting these lovely people I had a major "best thing" occur.

Our second oldest boy (the one with high-functioning autism) went up to each of these people he'd never seen before, offered his hand to shake and said "Hi, I'm Charlie."

I was amazed! I know they've been working on it at school but I'd never seen him do it before, and certainly not with total strangers.

The boys did really well with having more kids in the house. I'm exhausted, but I'm smiling.

Interest in HF: started in childhood with the classics, which, IMHO are HF even if they were contemporary when written.
Favorite HF book: Prince of Foxes, by Samuel Shellabarger
Preferred HF: Currently prefer 1600 and earlier, but I'll read anything that keeps me turning the page.

Our first grandson arrived at 3:45 AM! :D Demetri William, 8 lbs. 2 oz. I don't have any pix yet, but be sure that 'Gramily' (that's my moniker to the granddaughter: Grandma + Emily) will post them! :D
