Beautiful collection! Thanks for posting, Misfit. I must now go and surf the net for The Eyecatcher and its history of being - never seen much like it before.

EC, you're a brave woman, motorbikes being so dangerous and all! Love the photo and looks like you had a great day to remember.

Sigh. I remember when I was a tiny high school senior and rode on the back of a bike to Boone Hall Plantation for a blues/jazz fest day. (Boone Hall inspired the film Tara for GWTW).

Does anyone know the story behind the eyecatcher? I was wondering about that also.

Hey, I want to build an eyecatcher on my property one day. http://www.follytowers.com/steeple.html I really like this one. OK, maybe just go with Plan A - the semi circular pergola over the stone patio one day.
