The 81st Oscar Nominations

Post by SonjaMarie » Thu January 22nd, 2009, 5:59 pm

I'm strangely not excited this year, maybe because the show might not actually happen, if I find out it will go on I might get more excited:

Why might it not go ahead?

Lots of controversary here about Barbara Walter's comments suggesting that Heath Ledger got a sympathy nomination. The Aussie media is on the warpath.

There's rumblings about an actor's strike. It's been quiet for a few weeks now but there was noise about it happening before the Oscars and the Oscars not happening or being boycotted if they tried to go on like last year's Golden Globes. We have a month so I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Oh BS to Barbara! He deceives it fair and square, his Joker is amazing and I would have thought he would have deceived a nom even if he hadn't died!

I think Heath deserves the Oscar too. But its a shame that Thr Dark Knight and Tropic Thunder were released in the same year because I think Robert Downey Jr should win as well.
