I'm doing a different sort of contest on my blog through next Friday. Rather than offering up a new or forthcoming historical novel, I'm giving away an old, obscure and somewhat rare one. The title is The Cloister and the Citadel by Brigid Knight, a biographical novel of Charlotte de Bourbon-Montpensier, a 16th-century French princess.
I reviewed it last September in the "reviews of obscure books" series on my blog. It's a first edition hardcover with a dustjacket that's as pristine as you'll likely find for a 50-year-old book.
