Circuit City Going Out of Business

Post by SonjaMarie » Sat January 17th, 2009, 7:15 am

Sigh, this is where I got my laptop and my Ipod and pretty much all my electronics in the past.

In several communities where I visited their stores, the service was uniformly awful. I was not the only one among friends and acquaintances with that opinion.

Another reason for their demise could be our ability to buy new products for considerably less money with free shipping and no sales tax on the Internet at sites like Vann's.

I haven't been in a Circuit City for years - but then I haven't bought much in the way of electronics in the same period. I would normally shop Costco online first, their warehouse second.

I have never been in a CC, but since they announced they were closing I have heard more than once that their service has been lackluster and their people rude. I wonder if thats one reason?

Interest in HF: I love history, but it's boring in school. Historical fiction brings it alive for me.

We used to have two CCs here. One just opened within the last year or two. The one that closed just before year's end has crappy service. The newer one, much much better service. I usually have a hard time with service at Best Buy. I've stood in the middle of a section waiting for help and had not only workers walk right past me but a manager as well. The least they could've done was asked if I was being helped.

I only ever bought online so I can't say what their instore service was like. I never had a problem with customer service when I needed help or to use my warranty's.
