The Once & Future SonjaMarie

Post by SonjaMarie » Wed August 27th, 2008, 8:18 pm

I cannot tell you how happy I am that this forum is back! This is my "home" on the net, I spend more time here then anywhere else!

Having the forum die the day before my 35th birthday was a big shock and I was just soooo sad! I turned 35 Aug 23rd and I didn't have my forum friends to wish me Happy Birthday, it made it kinda worse!

I kept in touch with Tely and Boswell over the days before the forum was back up and that helped a lot!

I'm rather eclectic in my reading, I do enjoy Historical Fiction but I also love murder mysteries, books on British and European Royalty (nonfiction), true ghost stories, and a variety of other subjects (soon I'll be reading a book about the Hope Diamond nonfiction). Right now I'm really into reading Darcyiana (stories about Pride & Prejudice from Darcy's POV) and sequel's to the book.

While I do love watching TV, I always read at least 2 1/2 to 3 hours or more a day, mostly at night after I turn the TV off, but also some during the day after I turn the computer off. I am reading a lot faster then I used to, so I had to up my amount of books out at a time at booksfree.com.

And when I'm not doing everything I'm always on the hunt for images to add to my website museum on Lady Jane Grey. I next update on Oct 12th, assuming I have enough to make a decent update, it's getting harder and harder to find images I don't already have!

Ok enough about me, later all!

Thanks! It wasn't as bad a day as I was fearing. Mom, Harm and I went to Anthony's at Pt Defiance (across from Vashon by ferry in Tacoma) and my friend Diva joined us. She paid for my lunch and mom paid for Harm and her lunch). Then went home, had a nap and watched the Olympics.

PS. Wasn't it great that the Aussie stopped the Chinese rush for Gold in all the diving events!?!

Interest in HF: started in childhood with the classics, which, IMHO are HF even if they were contemporary when written.
Favourite HF book: Prince of Foxes, by Samuel Shellabarger
Preferred HF: Currently prefer 1600 and earlier, but I'll read anything that keeps me turning the page.

I just found out that NBC, while telling us the minutiae of the other divers shied away from telling us that Matthew Mitchum was openly gay and his partner was there to cheer him on. Apparently NBC is getting a lot of flack for that. The president has offered an apology at After Elton http://www.afterelton.com/blog/michaelj ... ment-51917

I wouldn't have found out if I hadn't read about it on TVG, and it would've made the moment even better for me if I had known!
