I was wondering how you did with this one. Having a hard time sticking with it.

I ended up giving it 2.5 stars. My review is up on Ammie, even though they edited the review (the last sentence is supposed to read, "That said, however, I vastly prefer novels like Sharon Kay Penman's Sunne in Splendour over Figures in silk."). Not sure why it was edited, but oh, well. Penman spoiled me for life.

I saw your review and wonder what got edited. Right now I'm torn between one and two stars - the further I go the more painful it is. Her writing is just so bizarre, those long sentences filled with too many commas and then those too short choppy ones. Penman does spoil one forever but there are still good books about Richard out there. Still waiting for Susan's and Brian Wainwright's books.
