Did You Know...(Christmas Related)

Post by SonjaMarie » Tue December 23rd, 2008, 3:49 am

That Bing Crosby, who wrote "White Christmas", was born in Tacoma, Washington. Tacoma, usually, doesn't get a lot of snow, but he mainly lived in Spokane as a kid, which does get a fair share of snow at winter, more then it usually gets or wants right now.

Lately I've been singing "I'm not dreaming of a white Christmas, just like the ones I used to know...."

Correction: Irving Berlin wrote it, D'oh! Crosby just sang it and made it popular, my bad!

I believe that the first version of the song started "I'm sitting here in Beverley Hills, dreaming of a White Christmas." Someone in the audience questioned the necessity of sitting in Beverley Hills, or anywhere else, and the rest is history.

In BH, they might have sung, "I'm dreaming of a bling-bling Christmas."
