I thought the Welsh were stereotypically "dark"? Catherine Zeta Jones, for example, is Welsh but looks very Mediterranean and played a Spanish woman in Zorro.

Yes she is, one of her grandmothers was Greek apparently (which is where the Zeta comes from).

Yeah but I thought it was still common for Welsh to be dark. I remember it being commented on in Here Be Dragons and my British husband says that's true.
