Interest in HF: started in childhood with the classics, which, IMHO are HF even if they were contemporary when written.
Favourite HF book: Prince of Foxes, by Samuel Shellabarger
Preferred HF: Currently prefer 1600 and earlier, but I'll read anything that keeps me turning the page.
Location: California Bay Area

Might be a re-enactment of a famous painting. Definitely not the same women, though they are trying.

Favourite HF book: Here Be Dragons by Sharon Kay Penman
Preferred HF: Any time period/location. Timeslip, usually prefer female POV. Also love Gothic melodrama.

Yes, it's very close, but with definite, deliberate differences.

Isn't that Conquests novel the one set in 1067 that previously had the very Regency looking cover (girl with pretty hair and pearls)?

Ohh, it was the Kingdoms Rule Hearts / Hearts Rule Kingdoms tagline that confused me. Not great marketing then - side by side I'd be able to tell the difference, but otherwise if I already had one I probably wouldn't buy the other, thinking it was the same book repackaged.

They wouldn't have had to put "Regency Romance" on such huge letters on the cover if they had used an appropriate image!

That has to be one of the most unappealing covers I've come across. I know we're not supposed to judge a book by its cover, especially when trade published authors have little control over the cover art, but this was a very unfortunate choice. And who is selling that artwork?
