Best search phrases

Post by michellemoran » Fri December 19th, 2008, 4:58 am

I've stolen this idea from BoswellBaxter, who often features this on her blog (and induces much laughter). For those of you who have your own website or blog, what are some of the craziest search phrases you've seen?

Today, someone reached my History Buff site by searching for:

what is a job that involves researching about old artifacts and finding secret passages?

HA! I wish I knew. I'd like to sign up for that job, too.

Oh I get some doozys sometimes.

I think I need to change the name of my image from Dicks Standard Plays, cause I get a search for the first word at least once a day or more, in various forms :P

I'll have to post any more fun ones I get later on.

SonjaMarie... I can just imagine. If I had a dollar for every time someone typed in "girl in the buff" or "hot buff guys" I could retire.

My favorites for my website this month:

hottest heirs and heiresses

hugh younger despenser testicles

(now that's a specialized interest)

oh edward edward

(methinks a Twilight fan has reached my website)

dr. susan higginbotham

(it does have a pleasant ring to it)

one of my favorites was: "mackin love a man and a woman". They reached my blog due to a review of a book I did by author with the last name of 'Mackin'. Someone needed to do a spell check on that search!

I thought this one was interesting: photos of headless anne boleyn

I also get a few searches a day from people wanting to know about medieval castles. From the last 12 hours:

medieval castle construction
ways to build real medieval castle
how to buy medieval castle

There's a business opportunity here for someone into architecture or real estate.

I don't know what's funnier - photos of Anne Boleyn or building a Real! Medieval! Castle! (It sounds like it should be a Lego set or something.)

Ha, that's very true!
My blog came up with those searches because I reviewed Reay Tannahill's Having the Builders In a while back. Maybe people interested in building castles should read the novel to get some ideas.
Boswell, I bet you're right about Twilight!
