Sorry, the cabin owl is fevered by the remnants of bodice bugs

Most people living in Central Oregon have moved here from elsewhere. Those from other areas of Oregon are generally well accepted. Even transplants from the original Oregon Territory, like Seattle and Spokane, are encouraged to take root. Immigrants from the British Empire are also welcome. However, anyone who has resided, even briefly, in the state south of Ashland is seen as almost certainly contaminated by the California Effect, and is therefore subject to ridicule.

In books, there is a similar phenomenon, imposed sex … aka The Bodice Ripper! Just the hint that an alpha male has forced sexual pleasure from the heroine negates any other positive quality, particularly historical research. Even Sciffi* stories are less loafsum.

Researchers remain schizoid about the origins of the soon to be banned BRs. But, by appointing Caribou Barbie Pail-one as Secretary of Print, to bail-out the filth, the Ayatollah Obama has clearly signaled the publishing industry that gratuitous and obligatory sex scenes will no longer be tolerated. It is also expected that imports of Boon&Mills from Britain will be banned.

In her settee scorching Far Pavilions Fahrenheit 451 speech, Pail-one described plans to evaluate the BR role of women in writing. Declaring that only women read and write BR fiction, Pail-one will investigate whether male publishing CEOs have been forcing the female editors and book-cover designers to “enrich” historical fiction with explicit sex.

*sciffi (pronounced skiff-ee) is an acronym for sciencefantasyfiction and is generally pronounced with a sneer. Loafsum is an illegal oriental junkfood, yellow brownies, which induce lazy and/or lascivious behavior.

Crikey, caveowl, I'm starting to feel an itch coming on - oops, that doesn't sound quite proper- mind you, we are talking about bodice-rippers here :)

I hadn't actually seen a photo of Deanna before- she would make a gorgeous Victorian heroine herself !
