Not about this book in particular, but Wilkinson is very busy these days--she published a biography of the young Richard III and is working on a companion book that covers the rest of his life. The Richard III book was pretty good, I thought, though at times she had an annoying tendency to presume what her subject was thinking (as in her claim that Richard idolized his older brother Edward IV). It'll be interesting to see how she manages an entire book on Mary Boleyn.

I don't know why her books keep getting tagged with that "grade 4-8 reading level." They're certainly not children's books.

I recall that book, Ikon at Goodreads had a copy and read it. I think she mentioned some editing issues.

The Memoirs of Mary Queen of Scots

Post by Misfit » Sat June 6th, 2009, 11:52 pm

I just got this sent to me via one of my Amazon friends. Does anyone know if it's going to be another *cough* "historical entertainment"?

PS, this is very cool and it's probably been there forever and I never noticed it. On any product underneath add to wish list, etc. buttons there's an option to share with friends. Click on that chose who you want and voila (!) I got an email with the product info.

I can only assume it will be. Erickson seems to crank these things out rather quickly. God, it seems like its one a year. Hmm. anyway I liked the Russian one she wrote, only cause it was fluffy and fun, but her Josephine book was quite horrid. Shes hot and cold, or so I feel.

I did a bit of Googling and found out that it is a "fictional first person account of the Scottish Queen's life." I'm coughing along with you!
