It was that bad on Saturday, but I do admit to trying it right after the emotional high of Cashelmara, plus its first person POV as well which I'm not terribly fond of. I'm going to give it another go and I really couldn't even get through the first chapter. I don't mind a "what if" novel, but the writing and storyline had better be pretty damn good. Mediocre won't cut it then.
Well let me know if it becomes a wallbanger, if it is, I'll steer clear of it.

I was going to respond :)

I liked it but I wasnt like OMG this is the best book ever.

I wasn't sure what the author was trying to do. Was the author trying to conceal the fact who the main character's mother was. I mean who couldn't figure it out on page eh 1. Or was she trying to explain how it happened. I wasn't really sure.

Anyway, it was predictable, but a decent enough read.

Thanks. I might look at it one more time but I've got plenty of books on my plate, predictable and decent enough, well....

I have to say this was one I put in a purchase request to the library (one of three or four) and they actually bought it.

I'm rather surprised to find Faye Kellerman's novel "The Quality of Mercy" listed as a forthcoming novel. It must in fact be a reissue, as it was first published in 1989 (when I read it!)
"The Queen's Mistake" by Diane Haeger Nov 3rd, not sure what it's about yet.
This now says "The Queen's Mistake: In the Court of Henry VIII".

Annoyingly, she has a a website, but it doesn't mention this book.
