No, Emma was the Brit wasn't she? I'm remembering an imperious, wonderfully flint-voiced American. I can literally see and hear her, I just cannot say who she was. I thought maybe Nola from GH (people told me I looked like her when I was like 11 - I never saw it) but a Google image search didn't help out there. I cannot remember the show nor the character, but I can SEE that woman so clearly!
