Young wannabe author says hello

Post by Jabrosky » Sat March 3rd, 2012, 4:32 am

I'm a 22-year-old Biological Anthropology major at the University of California in San Diego, but I also enjoy archaeology, history, cultural anthropology, and paleontology. I am especially interested in ancient Egyptian and other African history. Right now I'm trying to write a historical novel set in prehistoric Africa which is about the origins of the Egyptian civilization. I look forward to posting in this community!

Interest in HF: started in childhood with the classics, which, IMHO are HF even if they were contemporary when written.
Favourite HF book: Prince of Foxes, by Samuel Shellabarger
Preferred HF: Currently prefer 1600 and earlier, but I'll read anything that keeps me turning the page.
Location: California Bay Area

Hi, Jabrosky. I write too, but this is a place where I discuss what I read. What do you like to read?

Hi Jarbrosky. With your interest in archaeology and ancient culture, you might enjoy Allen Drury's historical fiction about the Pharoah Akhenaten. The books were published back in the 1970s but are still quite good.

Welcome, Jabrosky and best of luck with your research and writing. Would you happen to have any non-fiction recommendations about the Kushite kingdom? I have The Kingdom of Kush by Derick A. Welsby and Ancient African Civilatizations: Kush and Axum edited by Stanely Burstein, but still looking for morel.
