[quote=""LoveHistory""]That was a pretty good one, Nefret. Too short, and they misplayed Mr. Knightley but I liked it overall.

It was alright. I liked another version better.
Into battle we ride with Gods by our side
We are strong and not afraid to die
We have an urge to kill and our lust for blood has to be fulfilled
WE´LL FIGHT TILL THE END! And send our enemies straight to Hell!

"Eragon" - I have to admit, no idea how that got in my Netflix queue. It's not a *bad* film I guess, but I don't have exceptional interest in the genre, so I just sort of had it on while balancing the checkbook, getting dinner, doing a bit of eBaying. Not sure what's on the DVD mailing list next, I like to be surprised.

An Education. Fabulous cast and great job by Carey Mulligan in the lead.

Loved that movie!

Tried to watch Morning Glory with Harrison Ford, but gave up after a half hour. Too awful!

I finally got to see 'The Help' and yes, I prefer the movie to the book. I thought it well done but in reality those maids would have been lynched. But I liked the small town mentality and it is sad to think that nothing has changed much :( you don't have to be in America's deep south to see racism or the bitchy spiteful she wolves that control small communities.

I nearly caused a riot in my own small town when I suggested we visit aboriginal people in their own homes as friends....One woman took me aside and I will never forget what she said....'those people are dirty, smelly and well, they are not us, dear....' and you can guess, I left the parish.

We watched that too! Not too bad.

Since it was a cold, windy weekend, hubby and I watched two movies-The Debt with Helen Mirren and The Conviction with Hillary Swank. Niether of which was bad, but back to back, it made you depressed!

I didn't find it so much bad as sort of inexplicable. I don't care for fantasy enough, especially fantasy centered on young boys. So it just seemed odd, cropping up in my Netflix queue. :)

Interest in HF: started in childhood with the classics, which, IMHO are HF even if they were contemporary when written.
Favourite HF book: Prince of Foxes, by Samuel Shellabarger
Preferred HF: Currently prefer 1600 and earlier, but I'll read anything that keeps me turning the page.

Saw Red Tails with my valentine tonight. A good movie, basically Memphis Belle with the black storyline added in. I sat there watching all those planes go down and was thankful that my pilot-guy has given up the flying hobby.

The Eagle. I wish movie directors would stop throwing historical accuracy so gaily to the winds. Roman legionaries did not form testudos when making a sally out of a fort to rescue their captive comrades. The testudo was an anti-arrow formation, and would have been worse than useless in hand-to-hand combat.

Things like that irritate me. Seeing rectangular shields in Agora, and everything to do with combat in Arthur - too much!

Having said that, I rather enjoyed the storyline in Eagle. Just those blue Mohawk Seal People....I'm guessing the director had just come from watching Avatar (whose director in turn had evidently read everything about Custer's Last Stand).
