I've just finished a Game of Thrones and thought it was a cracking good read! I was completely drawn into the world of Westeros. Brilliant stuff - it didn't feel like fantasy at all. I was totally immersed. Those beautiful dragon's eggs put me in mind of Faberge! LOL.

I will definitely have to read A Clash of Kings before the TV adaptation starts next April. As Brenna warned me I would be, I'm hooked! :D

I felt the same with the first book and it is the genius of Martin(and very cunning) to draw the reader in with such powerful characters...but be warned, there are dangers ahead  and do NOT pick favourites :p lol...and at times the books do get bogged down with to much detail....but other than that I can't wait for the 'Winds of Winter'....sigh...

George R.R. Martin is at it again!

I haven't read the excerpt as I haven't read the 4th or 5th books. Oh well.

I wish he'd hurry it up  I admit he has put me off buying any more books that don't seem to end or where you have to wait years  .

He starts with Theon Greyjoy who I find boring but at least Stannis is there to add some interest, not that I like the character, he is brusque, ruthless and goes straight for the jugular...but he never dithers!...I just wish the author would MOVE the books on a bit...I mean at the end Arya, Sansa, Bran etc are still going to be children? For crying out loud...ARGHHHHH!!!

OK rant over :p ...have a nice day everyone :D

I'm in the middle of book 3 which I am liking a whole lot better than book 2. A surprising event happened and that made me stay up two hours later reading than I had planned!

Amazon has the paperback of Book 5 - Dance of Dragons - listed for publication; it will be split into two parts, in the UK anyway, not sure about the US.

Hopefully the ebook will come down in price when the paperback is published, as I have the rest of the series on my Kindle.
