No, MLE. That one I might have gone for.
It's a teddy bear, Madeleine. Not the fuzzy mutt that people usually associate with that term. The breeder deliberately chose to combine three very carefully selected breeds for certain attributes and has been breeding them for more than 30 years. She actually coined the term teddy bear dog. She's raised all her own breeding stock for generations and she knows her dogs very well.
Normally we would have gotten a puppy from my parents, but they don't have any right now and my husband doesn't much care for the way Elkhounds shed.

The one we're getting is five months old so there's a very real likelihood that we will keep the name the breeder gave him, which is Milo. Two of the kids like it (one doesn't, and one is undeclared) and it seems to fit him well.
Other contenders are Barnaby, Bertie, Shermie (from Peanuts) and Dug. Though my daughter is into Toy Story 3 and wouldn't mind calling him Buzz or Woody.
He's coming home tomorrow afternoon!

Ugh - teddy bear, mellow Milo. I am dying of how perfectly wonderful he sounds.
Today is my last Monday at work until 2012. I'm super excited to be able to read all day, knit, take long walks with Padfoot, wrap presents, watch Christmas movies, make fantasticly unhealthy but wholesome dinners, and just enjoy life. Yahoo!
Congratulations, Brenna. That sounds great.
