In London, in 1469, where my oldest sister just gave birth to the king's third child. Yet another daughter. He gives no sign of being bothered by the lack of a son and heir.

split personality :-)

In the Forbidden City in 1856 where I've just given birth to the Emperor's first male heir. The Empress is plotting to diminish my standing in the eyes of the Emperor. She tried to kill my child before it was born and now she has brought in four new concubines who are the Emperor's new favorites. My head eunuch just told me that I will not be allowed to raise my son.

In the small town of Shakespeare, Arkansas, where it's Christmas and I'm maid of honour at my sister's wedding.
