I must mention this somewhere or I will explode and using my real life FB account is not the place to do it, so please excuse me while I vent.
Have customer who was incapable of paying his bill. We sued him and his contractor bond paid us. Now, a year later and without batting an eyelid or calling in an asking if there's a problem with that, my salesman takes a $1700 check from this person. A person who only pays via his credit card, never ever writes checks.
Can anyone guess what said $1700 check is made of?
Oh, and since we already took his contractor bond there isn't another one to sue to get money for the NSF check. And management is asking ME who is going to get this collected.

Thanks, I just needed to vent. Then there was the time a cash customer's credit card declined so they took his check instead...

Argghh. I know that type of situation all too well from being in private veterinary practice. Sounds like some training needed there for those who take 'payment' from customers....

Meanwhile, on the other side of the equation - I work for one of the biggest taxpaying institutions on the planet, and our audits are incredibly serious. And I recieved FOUR invoices at once from a contractor, the timesheets for which were not even signed, and without documentation of our management approval included. I've been leaving messages with their AP since last week, and my notes on hard copies are degenerating from "message in with AP, date, time" to "seriously - you are pulling my leg at this point, right?"

Lol. Dealing with contractors is rarely dull, is it? Oh the horror stories I could tell...
PS, *my* contractor is giving the saleman who took the check on a long journey of round about nonsense from the check is good, to it's only about $70 short, to I'd have to go and take the money from one account and put it in another account to bring the balance up enough to make the debit card accept it. Why he can't just take the damned cash out of the bank and walk it in I don't know...
On top of this, he has it in his head that we need to release his *bond* (what is called in this case as assignment of savings - too hard to explain), so that he can have it again. Ummmm, we were paid that so we could get paid. We aren't giving it back

Misfit, that is almost a classic in obstinate obtuse-ery. Holy smokes.
Here's hoping we're both resolved before the weekend. Good grief!
