August 2011

81. Incubus (Fairwick Chronicles, #1) by Goodman, Carol (5/5)
82. The Birth of Blue Satan by Wynn, Patricia (4/5)
83. The Dragons of Archenfield (Domesday, #3) by Marston, Edward (4/5)
84. The Killing Way (Arthurian Mysteries, #1) by Hays, Tony (3/5)
85. Zemindar by Fitzgerald, Valerie (5/5)
86. Lord of the Silver Bow (Troy, #1) by Gemmell, David (5/5)
87. Shield of Thunder (Troy, #2) by Gemmell, David (5/5)
88. Fall of Kings (Troy, #3) by Gemmell, David (5/5)
Read these 3 in a row and couldn't put them down. What an inteligent way of deconstructing the legends surrounding Odysseus and Troy and get you to believe this is prolly how it happenned. I loved the episode with Odysseus and the pig (Circe myth) and oh, the part about the Trojan Horse? I so didnt see that one coming :D . Just brilliant.
89. The Devil in Winter by Kleypas, Lisa (3/5)
90. The Greyfriar (Vampire Empire, #1) by Griffith, Clay (4/5)
A book with a masked hero and a princess in distress. Loved it more than expected.
91. Hereward by Wilde, James (2/5)
If you like flying guts, seas of blood and decorating with severed heads then this is the book for you. I made myself finish it because it shows Harold with a new light and I was curious but still not my thing. Some open threads in the end. Does he plan to follow this with more books? Oh my.
92. Prophecy by Parris, S.J. (3/5)
Not bad but #1 was better IMO
93. Before Ever After by Sotto, Samantha (5/5)
Unusual book with several threads going on: present with a woman mourning her husband, 5 years ago with several people in a singular tour around Europe in a ramshackle van, Bee Gees music in the background, and in every city they learn a piece of the past of a family going back in time to ****. It feels mostly like an historical novel with a fantasy twist. Several days later I'm still thinking about that ending...

September 2011

94. The Assassin's Prayer (Mistress of the Art of Death #4) by Franklin, Ariana (5/5)
A shame we'll never get to know the end...
95. Absolution by Murder (Sister Fidelma, #1) by Tremayne, Peter (3/5)
96. China Trade (A Bill Smith/Lydia Chin Novel, #1) by Rozan, S.J. (4/5)
97. Point of Honour by Robins, Madeleine E. (4/5)
Unnecessary alternate Regency history but mystery was fine.
98. It Happened One Bite (Regency Vampyre Trilogy, #1) by Dare, Lydia (1/5)
Author must be 15 years old
99. The Spider's Touch by Wynn, Patricia (4/5)
100. Simon Said by Shaber, Sarah R. (3/5)
101. A Moment of Silence by Dean, Anna (3/5)
102. Blackman's Coffin by Castrique, Mark de (4/5)
103. The Motive from the Deed by Wynn, Patricia (4/5)
104. Dangerous Undertaking (Buryin' Barry, #1) by Castrique, Mark de (3/5)

October 2011

107. A Beautiful Blue Death (Charles Lenox Mysteries, #1) by Finch, Charles (3/5)
108. My Love, My Enemy by Speas, Jan Cox (4/5)
Dont get fooled by the Sourcebooks cover.
109. Dead and Kicking (A Ghost Dusters Mystery, #3) by Roberts, Wendy (2/5)
110. Wolf Star (Tour of the Merrimack, #2) by Meluch, R.M. (5/5)
111. The Sagittarius Command (Tour of the Merrimack, #3) by Meluch, R.M. (5/5)
112. A Bespoke Murder by Marston, Edward (3/5)
113. Pompeii by Harris, Robert (4/5)
114. Strength and Honor (Tour of the Merrimack Series #4) by Meluch, R.M. (4/5)
I couldnt stop reading this series. Some authors know how to keep you glued to the book and this is one of them. Main characters are excellent although I suspect the complex and tormented Augustus was too big a fish to keep him in scene and its a shame. Last scene doesnt leave much room for the next book in the series that is now on its way to me...
115. One for the Money (Stephanie Plum, #1) by Evanovich, Janet (3/5)
116. Saving Grace by Garwood, Julie (3/5)
Nothing much happens for 80% of the book being the top moment when she goes to the river to give the dog a bath. Couple funny scenes.
117. Hominids (Neanderthal Parallax, #1) by Sawyer, Robert J. (4/5)
118. A Drink Before the War by Lehane, Dennis (4/5)
Excellent mystery.
119. Phoenix Rising (Ministry of Peculiar Occurrences, #1) by Philippa Ballantine and Tee Morris (3/5)
I loved the basic idea (a victorian warehouse 13) and the sexy librarian who only acts as a hero when she's unconscious so she keeps thinking he cant shoot a gun. :D What I didnt like is the way its writen, irregular, with scenes dragging on and on. And the out of the blue bacchanal scene doesnt fit at all with the "all audiences" tune of the rest of the book. You can tell there are 2 authors here.
