Anyone heard of her? One of my GR friends mentioned her and I think she's a UK author but haven't found much more than what's hereat Fiction DB. I ordered The Longest Winter (Russia) from Thriftbooks and The Distant Kingdom (India) from Paperbackswap.

I did see that and Natasha Cooper looks to write spy novel/mysteries of some sort.

I'm sure Annis will have something...

Here's a link to an interview but I am not sure it sheds any more light on the issue.

The blurb for the Longest Winter sounds vaguely familiar from a long time ago but I might be getting it confused with another book. It often happens and I have recently acquired an old Constance Fecher novel which I read when I was abouit 12 and was convinced had two very particular scenes in it. But when I got the book the only thing I had remembered correctly was the hero's name.

I can't help wondering which book had the two bits I remember.

Thanks, but you are right it doesn't sheld much light on the books we're interested in - but I've only time to skim it right now. I did get a shipping confirmation on the Russia book so that's one down.

She's actually written under other names as well, and crime/mystery is her favoured genre- she never wrote all that many historical novels. Maybe she hit the HF slump of the early '90s and decided to diversify. I do remember reading Longest Winter and Distant Land back in the day - 1980s? Probably the closest comparison would be with Emma Drummond.

Here's a short notation from the Gale Writer's Directory.
