I knew you'd say that! I didn't get too far yet. I have some things to do for school (counting down the days until June 23) and then I will spend some time this weekend reading.

- Favourite HF book: Prince of Foxes, by Samuel Shellabarger
- Preferred HF: Currently prefer 1600 and earlier, but I'll read anything that keeps me turning the page.

A Little White Death by John Lawton. It's the third in this historical mystery/espionage series with London detective Frederick Troy. This time outsider Troy tries to solve murders amid postwar political intrigue and a Cold War spy scandal in Britain. It's a jump in time to an older Troy, but I'm enjoying the switch. Lots of good period detail and well-drawn characters. Dark and sometimes quirky. Right down my alley.

Just finished The Emperor's Gold by Robert Wilton. Espionage novel set during the first days of August 1805. Even though it moves slowly I never lost my patience with it. Seen as a whole that was the correct pace to this novel. Really good mystery and I'm only a little annoyed that we don't get to know the real name of Tom Roscarrock hehe. Ah, and why the emporor's gold? it wasn't exactly the emperor's... anyway recommended if you like espionage novels.

I need something really good to read - something that's going to be glued to my hand. It's not been happening recently. Doesn't have to be historical, I'm open to all genres. Just let me be panting to turn the page and involved with the characters. Suspect I may have the blahs.

Thanks for trying. I will continue to wait impatiently. I'm not the only one still waiting, Terry mentioned at Goodreads today hers shipped two weeks ago and hasn't arrived either. Perhaps the mail is having issues?
