New LibraryThing Stats

Post by Amanda » Fri April 22nd, 2011, 4:41 am

Librarything (I know a few of you are active on there) has just released a new statistic, were it will use your catalogue, the page length and dimensions of the book to calculate (more like guestamate) the height of your personal tower of books.

Apparently the height of my books is just a few meters shy of the height of the Statue of Liberty!

I've received an email about it but have yet to investigate!

Even I'm not that obsessive! Mind you I'd dread to think what the height of mine would be.....

My stack came out higher than the Sphinx but lower than the Statue of Liberty. Time to get cracking on book buying . . .

My stack's just a tad shorter than the Eiffel Tower...

Can't say I'm fond of heights, but books are another story. (Or storey, as the case may be.)

This has encouraged me to sign up there, as I keep hearing about it, and SLOC & I are hopeless at cataloging our books (it's hard enough to keep them shelved correctly :D ).

So it's a good thing that I've got some time off over Easter, as I foresee me spending hours doing this... But once the initial work is done, it'll be reasonably easy to keep it updated.
