[quote=""writerinthenorth""]Just discovered I've reached the quarter final (last 250 in General Fiction) with 'Mr Stephenson's Regret' so I'm pleased with that.

When do they announce the winner? Good luck . . .

Congrats and best of luck on the next round.

Whew, I can finally look at this thread again, I was one of the reviewers from Vine for the last round. From what I can recall none of the excerpts I reviewed made it, which is too bad. Some were quite good. Others... :(

The next stage is the semi-final, 50 in General Fiction, to be announced mid-April. Thanks for your good wishes.

I have reprinted the opening extract of my entry, together with the ABNA reviews at my blog Writer in the North, and would welcome any comments.

The piece has a lovely tone - quite a luminous quality. I particularly liked your depiction of 'typical' Northern traits!

Hi Wendy

Thanks for taking the trouble to read the extract, and for your kind comments.

ABNA have now made the quarter final extracts available for general review. It would be really helpful to have reviews of my extract on site, so if you have time please visit, read and review. My category is Historical Fiction and my extract from 'Mr Stephenson's Regret' is no. 40. There is rather a long-winded link below which should take you direct to the Kindle download link. Many thanks.
