Very disappointed by Black Death. I'm a huge Sean Bean fan but this movie was so predictable.

I saw the King's Speech and thought it was a lovely little film. I think Geoffrey Rush is a wonderful actor in just about anything and didn't Guy Pearce do well?

I've always preferred Colin Firth in his gentler roles -- great in Fever Pitch (and so nice to recognise the locations) -- I was not so keen on him in the nasty role in Shakespeare in Love (one of my favourite films).

I didn't recognise Jennifer Ehle as Geoffrey Rush's wife until the credits at the end.

SGM, I was very impressed with Guy Pearce too. Didn't recognize him. Ehle I figured out about halfway through.

Was that because he was too busy 'kinging'? :D He did play the part well of the playboy king.

Oh, I loved him in that role! So horrid and nasty yes, but he did it so well! It was so hammy, I think he had fun with it.

Neither did I, and even after seeing it the second time, still couldn't see her as Elizabeth in P&P - but then I remembered that was 15 years ago - her look has changed just a tad :)

I really hope that movie takes home a bunch of Oscars. It was my favorite movie of the year. I don't normally see movies multiple times, but I want to see it again, very soon.

Watched Never Let Me Go with Keira Knightley and Carey Mulligan. Truly, one of the saddest and most depressing movies I've seen in quite a while. Beautifully acted and written, but, oy, you need a cocktail afterwards. Or three.

Also saw Conviction with Hilary Swank and the always glorious Minnie Driver. Great story, with an amazing cameo by Juliette Lewis.
