Woohoo! Just got confirmation that I'll be among the reviewers for the first round in Amazon's Breakthrough Novel Award. Hard work (I did it the first year they had it), but if you review all 40 excerpts you get a $350 Ammy GC. I can think of a few ways to spend that... :D ;)
At home with a good book and the cat...

I found out that my favourite candy bar, Annabelle's Rocky Road, comes in Dark and Mint, but since they don't carry those on Vashon, I went to their website and found this special thing for easter:

Now I can try the other 2.

Just looked at the Annabelle's website. Yummy! They also have a Rocky Road Supreme
Dark Chocolate Mocha and a Rocky Road Supreme Milk Chocolate Peanut Butter.

It's a shame they don't offer an assortment for people who would like to try one of each.

I might have to be naughty sometime and buy a box of the Mocha Supreme!

Went to a singles Valentine's Day party hosted by a member of my church young adult group at his place. Tonight was most convenient for everyone.

Had a great day. I got out of the house. Went to lunch and book shopping with a friend. She also brought Christmas presents for the kids and birthday gifts for me (we were going to do this in December but weather got in the way). The owners of the book store are interested in my writing.

It's amazing what a few hours without kids or husband can do for a person.

Best day I've had in ages.

My husband's skin biopsy came back negative. He's a two-time cancer survivor having already survived malignant melanoma once and also prostate cancer.
