The Year In Disturbing Book Deals

Is it wrong to feel envious of an octopus, since the octopus didn't have to write any query letters?

That was... interesting. How does an octopus predict the World Cup?
Into battle we ride with Gods by our side
We are strong and not afraid to die
We have an urge to kill and our lust for blood has to be fulfilled
WE´LL FIGHT TILL THE END! And send our enemies straight to Hell!

Especially intriguing, as he passed away a few weeks ago  But for many, he was the most entertaining thing about this year's World Cup.....

I dunno but I want that agent. If they can get a book deal for an octopus surely there is hope for me! ;)

I'm actually curious as to what the Octopus wrote. Or rather what his ghost-writer wrote. You know those snooty, glamourous sea creatures. Probably couldn't be bothered to stop signing autographs long enough to actually pen a book.

I'm tempted to groan, "Only in America!" but I suspect I would be wrong . . .

This brings up a very sore subject with me.....To name a few....Ronald Reagan, John F Kennedy, Hillary Clinton, George W Bush, Sarah Palin etc all had Best Sellers....And they were written solely by Professional Ghostwriters.....I know they are celebrity status politicians.........This has always been very disturbing to me....Non Writing Politicians and Celebs getting huge book deals and most authors never get their due......The reading public who buys and read/ skim these books are to me the real culprit.....I proud to say I boycott all Ghostwriters and their subjects books......Hard working authors deserve better.........Who and what are Ghostwriters and why do they sell themselves short?....Can it be only for the money?.......Only my humble opinion.....

I've always felt sorry for Katie Price's/aka "Jordan"'s ghost-writer - I hope they get well paid!
