Amanda, you reminded me of a story from one of my mother's reunions (which she never attends, but hears about from friends): one guy was such a jerk to everyone in the school that he spent the entire reunion going around and apologizing to everybody there.

Yesterday... the Scottish Festival. It was fun. Good music.

Not enough cute guys in kilts this year.
Into battle we ride with Gods by our side
We are strong and not afraid to die
We have an urge to kill and our lust for blood has to be fulfilled
WE´LL FIGHT TILL THE END! And send our enemies straight to Hell!
I went to my 20 year high school reunion last night!
I think you're pretty courageous to brave a 20-year hs reunion! I went to my 10th and that was enough for me. I've been told the 20th is much better than the 10th, but I wasn't interested. And now my 30th is fast approaching.... Yikes!!!! No, I won't be going to that one, either. I left home 2 weeks after graduating from high school, moved to a different part of the state, and hardly ever went back. At a family funeral a couple of weeks ago, I saw people I hadn't seen in probably 25 years. It felt strange. My life has so moved on.......

Best thing today was seeing my little girl's reaction to her last birthday present (a beautiful doll). Her eyes lit up and she got this sweet little smile and was so careful with her new friend.

Second best was when she saw the cake with her name on it. She wanted to put the candles back on after she'd blown them out. And a couple times after we finished eating she walked into the kitchen, put her hands in the air and shouted "happy birthday" with a big smile on her face.

Interest in HF: started in childhood with the classics, which, IMHO are HF even if they were contemporary when written.
Favourite HF book: Prince of Foxes, by Samuel Shellabarger
Preferred HF: Currently prefer 1600 and earlier, but I'll read anything that keeps me turning the page.

Yes MLE, she is the big 0-3. Her doll is watching a movie with her right now.

My favourite variety of apple - Egremont Russets - is back in season! Nice surprise in the supermarket this morning. One of the best things about autumn.

Also, I bought myself a new office chair for my home study. Was very expensive but I have a bad back and I'll shortly be working one day a week from home. It feels so good.

By the way, does anyone know what to do with samphire??

When a little girl gets "her" first doll is so special. I have my daughter's Raggedy Ann (quite raggedy, indeed!) in a special place in my office. A friend came over with a four-year-old who immediately grabbed the doll. My (then 18-year-old) daughter followed the little girl around with anxious eyes. She didn't relax until the little girl went home leaving the doll in its accustomed spot!

The best thing today has been the weather! Fabulously sunny and warm, had lunch at a friend's and we sat in the garden, then we went to an Apple Day at a nearly property (the one in my Avatar) and wandered through the lovely gardens, met a few people from my walking group, had a cup of tea and generally enjoyed a gorgeous late English summer day.

I wasn't really interested in dolls as a child. I still have a stuffed toy bunny was given for my 4th birthday. Her name is Carrotbunny, she used to hold a carrot in her paws, but that's been gone for decades.
