I liked Tony Curtis....When he was properly cast he was always very good; ie "Some like it Hot" with Jack Lemon and Marlyn Monroe...Then he would play a Viking with a Brooklyn accent(Huh)...in "The Vikings" with Kirk Douglas and Janet Leigh.....What a hoot....He was one of the last real Hollywood Stars.....May he Rest in Peace....

I remember the year after my family moved to Los Angeles, we decided to hang out at a premiere on Hollywood Blvd. It happened to be for The Great Race. The year was 1965 and I was just 13 yrs. old. All the crazy automobiles used in the movie came driving up one by one to the Pantages Theater and the stars of the film emerged, including, of course, Tony Curtis... It was the only time I ever saw him in person, but I will always remember that evening. What a great actor!

Some Like it Hot was on ITV last night in tribute to Tony Curtis. I always enjoyed his films but especially this one. Hale and Farewell.

He was a truly handsome man in his heyday. I remember him as Danny Wilde in The Persuaders!

Loved him in Operation Petticoat, too. I agree with the comments all of you have made. What a handsome man and what a pleasure to watch on screen.

I remember that one too, I still have the theme tune somewhere in my old record collection!

Pretty sure I've only ever seen him in Spartacus. Must rent more of his work.

Interesting note: he did an interview a few years ago where he talked about a number of things including what he wanted as an epitaph ("Nobody's perfect") and made a comment something--I believe the topic was self-destructive behavior--about whether you're going to die at 35 or 85.

I read recently that Michael Caine said that the first time he met Curtis, he was chastised for smoking and told that he should quit, but not long after Curtis was caught with marijuana at Heathrow.
