I'm getting near the end of Michael Crichton's Timeline. It's o.k., though not as exciting or interesting as I'd hoped.

There was too much tech stuff in it for my taste.

I shall always like Sphere the best.

Yeah, Sphere and the 2 Jurassic books for me, though Congo wasn't that bad.

I really liked the Jurassic books. Too bad they couldn't put everything in the movies. I did like Airframe too.

My favourite Crichton's are an early one- The Great Train Robbery- and his last one, Pirate Latitiudes. Timeline didn't really do it for me.

Currently having a bit of fun with a novel of Lake Wobegon by Garrison Keillor of the Prairie Home Companion - it's called Pontoon. I keep hearing that wonderful distinctive dead-pan voice as I read :)

Read Timeline ages ago, I agree about the techy stuff but apart from that I enjoyed it as a bit of escapism.

Crichton's probably not a good author to read if you don't like tech stuff! Jurassic Park is one of my favourite ever thrillers - way, way better than the movie IMO. Don't think he can be matched in the techno-thriller genre - shame he died so prematurely. :(

'Other People's Daughters: The Life and Times of the Governess' by Ruth Brandon. Thoroughly enjoying it :)
