The Road to Rome
I just received my first copy of The Road to Rome in the post. The cover, IMHO, looks outstanding, and will therefore hopefully be a real crowd (customer) puller!

That truly is an outstanding cover, Ben! Very eye catching and evocative. I'm sure it will draw loads of people in.

Good for you, Love History! Bodice rippers?
Best thing today for me: I emailed the completed Soldier of Carthage to my editor. Now the wait, the wait until she gets back to me.

- Interest in HF: started in childhood with the classics, which, IMHO are HF even if they were contemporary when written.
- Favourite HF book: Prince of Foxes, by Samuel Shellabarger
- Preferred HF: Currently prefer 1600 and earlier, but I'll read anything that keeps me turning the page.

Today is the official birthday of Queen Elizabeth II (as opposed to the day she was actually born). In case you're wondering what that's all about?? I've inserted a link to an NPR interview with Richard Quest, a blustering and quite hilarious Englishman who explains the origin and current practice of this ridiculous tradition. (those were his words, not mine!)
